We are excited to invite you to participate in the multinational training course “T3: Train the Trainer”, which will take place in Oroslavje, Croatia, from 15–22 March 2026 (travel days included). For eight training days, including two travel days, 20 youth workers from 8 countries will come together to strengthen their professional capacity to design learning experiences intentionally and to confidently guide groups through meaningful learning journeys.
Overview of the Project
Youth workers, educators, and facilitators across Europe are increasingly taking on the role of trainers within the youth work field. In many cases, however, they have not received formal training on the fundamentals of workshop design and delivery. As a result, they are often expected to facilitate learning processes and deliver workshops that are engaging, structured, and effective, without having been equipped with the necessary pedagogical and facilitation competencies.
This situation is also evident within Erasmus+ and other international learning programs. While many professionals bring strong motivation, subject‑matter expertise, and valuable practical experience, they are frequently required to deliver training activities without structured preparation for the complex and demanding role of a trainer. This can lead to challenges related to training design, facilitation skills, group management, learner engagement, and personal confidence.
This Training for Trainers has been developed in response to the growing need for qualified, reflective, and competent trainers who are able to design and facilitate high‑quality learning processes in diverse, intercultural, and international contexts. Throughout the training, participants will be actively involved in practical exercises, simulations, and training practice sessions. They will have opportunities to design and deliver short training inputs, observe others in action, and receive structured and constructive feedback from peers and trainers. This hands‑on approach supports the development of self‑awareness, critical reflection, and confidence in one’s own training style.
Main Aim
The main aim of the Training for Trainers is to strengthen the capacity of youth workers, educators, and facilitators to design and deliver high‑quality, engaging, and inclusive workshops by developing their competencies in non‑formal education, training design, facilitation, and reflective practice within the youth work field and Erasmus+ contexts.
Training Course Objectives
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
Design structured and engaging workshops using non‑formal education principles, with clear learning objectives, logical flow, and appropriate methodologies.
Facilitate learning processes confidently, applying effective communication, clear instructions, time management, and inclusive facilitation techniques.
Work constructively with group dynamics and diversity, adapting training approaches to different backgrounds, learning styles, and intercultural contexts.
Learn how to tackle a crisis that might arise within the group, and learn how to proceed when sessions do not work out as planned.
Create safe and participatory learning environments that foster trust and psychological safety.
Profile of Participants
We are looking for participants who are active in the youth work field and who are motivated to further develop their facilitation and training competencies. The training is suitable for individuals who already facilitate workshops or learning activities, as well as those who are expected to take on a facilitation or training role in the near future.
While previous experience in facilitating workshops will support the learning process, extensive training experience is not required. To ensure a safe space and maximum quality, we will conduct online interviews with participants who apply.
Participants are expected to:
Have a good command of the English language, with sufficient proficiency in both spoken and written English to actively participate in discussions, group work, and training activities.
Be willing to step out of their comfort zone, actively engage in the learning process, and practice facilitating in front of a group.
Have some previous experience with non‑formal education, either through participation in training, youth work activities, or facilitation.

The city of Oroslavje is located in the northern part of Croatia, near the city of Zagreb. It lies along major routes connecting Western Europe, Zagreb, and the Adriatic coast. With such traffic connections, the doors of economic, agricultural, touristic, cultural, and other development are open to it. Although small, this town will win you over with its offers, hospitality, and friendliness.

A Must‑Have Souvenir
An original souvenir from a visit to Croatia is a tie, a must‑have item of clothing in the business world, and an authentic Croatian product. In the 17th century, Croatian soldiers used to tie elegant scarves around their necks, a fashion later picked up by the French; the rest is history.
Accommodation – Hotel Zagi
Participants will be accommodated at Hotel Zagi Oroslavje, located only 30 minutes (approximately 30 km) from Zagreb. The hotel offers beautiful rooms, a large conference room for the working part of the project and evening hangouts, and free Wi‑Fi throughout the building for both project work and leisure.
Participants will stay in double and triple bedrooms with participants of the same gender from different countries.
